Viant (Adelphic) DSP: Activation Guide

Last Updated On: July 31st, 2026

Overview

This guide outlines the essential steps for advertisers to activate and manage TripleLift inventory—including Native, Video, and Display formats—using the Viant (Adelphic) DSP platform.

1. Initial Account & Advertiser Setup

Before launching a campaign, you must establish your organizational structure within Viant.

  • Request Access: If you do not have UI access, email adelphic@triplelift.com to request account setup for the TripleLift console.
  • Create an Advertiser:
    • Navigate to Campaign Management > Advertisers.
    • Click "New" and complete the required fields: Agency, Category, and Advertiser Name.
    • Click "Apply Changes".

2. Campaign & Order Configuration

Once your advertiser profile is ready, you can build your campaign structure.

Campaign Setup

  1. In the Campaigns dashboard, click "New".
  2. Provide the Campaign Name, Advertiser, Domain URL, Category, and IO Number.
  3. Set your Campaign Flights, including start/end dates and budget (Lifetime and Daily).
  4. Click "Create Campaign".

Order (Line) Setup

  1. From the Campaign Dashboard, click 'New' in the Orders section.
  2. Select your Channel (Native, Video, or Display) and set your Optimization Goal and Base CPM Bid.
  3. Target TripleLift Inventory: Under the Line Item (LI) settings, choose "TripleLift" as the exchange.
  4. To go live, set the campaign to "Activate" and the creative status to "Submit to TripleLift".

3. Targeting & Inventory Management

TripleLift offers both open exchange and Private Marketplace (PMP) options.

  • Viant Deals (PMP): These are pre-negotiated packages curated for specific objectives like high viewability. You can assign these directly to an Audience or target them within an Order's Inventory > Deals section.
  • Client Deals: For custom deals negotiated directly with publishers:
    • Navigate to the "Deals" tab and click "New".
    • Enter the Deal Name, Deal ID (use tlx-#### format for TripleLift), Bid Floor, and Media Type.
  • Best Practice: Always set additional targeting (like Geo) on the Exchange side rather than layering too many filters in Viant, which can negatively impact delivery.

4. Creative Upload & Specifications

Choose the workflow that matches your format: Native, Video, or Display (3P Tags).

Creative Workflows

  • Native Workflow: Uses templates (Headline, Caption, Image, Logo) that dynamically adapt to site designs.
  • Video Workflow: Supports Branded Video and In-Stream. Branded Video begins muted and plays when 50% or more pixels are in view.
  • 3P Tag Workflow: For standard display or wizard formats, use the "Third Party Banner/Video" upload option for single or bulk tags.

5. Best Practices for Success

  • Do: Use "lifestyle" images showing products in real environments.
