Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to help you seamlessly target TripleLift’s premium native, video, and CTV inventory through the DV360 DSP.
1. Getting Started: Enabling TripleLift as an Exchange
Before you can target TripleLift inventory, you must ensure TripleLift is enabled as an authorized exchange in your DV360 partner settings.
- Navigate to your Partner level and select Settings > Basic Details.
- Scroll to the Exchanges section.
- Check the box next to TripleLift and click Save.

2. Choosing Your Workflow
TripleLift supports multiple creative formats. Use the following table to determine your setup path:
If you are running... |
Use this Workflow |
|---|---|
Native (Image, Carousel, etc.) |
|
Video (Instream/Outstream) |
|
Connected TV (CTV) |
|
Standard Display (Banners) |
|
Custom TripleLift Formats |
3. Targeting TripleLift Inventory
You can access TripleLift inventory via the Open Exchange or through specific Deals.
Open Exchange Targeting
- In your Campaign Settings, navigate to Inventory Source > Public Inventory.
- To target TripleLift exclusively, de-select all other exchanges and select TripleLift.
- Uncheck "Target New Exchanges" to prevent auto-scaling to other SSPs.
Deal ID (Private Auction) Setup
For more granular control and placement-level optimization, we recommend using Deal IDs.
- Go to Inventory > My Inventory > New > New non-guaranteed inventory.
- Enter the Deal ID (e.g., tlx-1234) and select TripleLift as the exchange.
- Set the Inventory Type to Private Auction.
- Note: To request a custom deal, contact dv360@triplelift.com.
4. Connected TV (CTV) Best Practices
TripleLift offers premium CTV inventory packages (Sports, Entertainment, etc.) discoverable via the DV360 Marketplace.
- Workflow: Use the "Connected TV and OTT streaming" Insertion Order for a streamlined setup.
- Creative Specs: Use VAST tags (2.0, 3.0, or 4.0). VPAID is not compatible with CTV devices.
- Targeting: Avoid restrictive viewability targeting, as CTV is often excluded from standard viewability measurement by default.
5. Troubleshooting & Optimization
If your campaign is not pacing as expected, follow these best practices:
- Deal Sync: TripleLift automatically synchronizes deals to DV360. Check the Negotiations section under Inventory to "Accept" any pending TripleLift deals.s

- Bidding Strategy: Use Fixed CPM to ensure consistent win rates and scale. If using Automated Bidding, select "While prioritizing spending my full budget".
- Targeting Restrictions: If spend is low, audit your filters. Removing demographic or audience restrictions can often help scale.
-
Active View: Active View is NOT compatible with our inventory and will completely block spend if selected.
- Tracking: If clicks are not firing, check your encoding levels. Use 1 Level of Encoding as the default unless your tracking URL contains "unsafe characters".
